The Gulfarium in Destin Fl is an Aquarium that offers shows for: dolphins, sea lions, otters, penguins, reptiles, harbor seals, sharks, and a crocodilian feeding show!
Although many attractions at the gulfarium are outdoor, there’s also a good portion of the aquarium that is indoor – making this an option for those dreaded rainy days at the beach.
If you’re a local, the annual pass is totally worth it. We have the pass in our daughter’s name so that no matter which one of us is free to take her, we can get in with her pass. If grandparents come to town, the can go without my husband and I tagging along!
The earliest show is the otter chat which takes place at 9:30AM. Other shows you might be able to catch before nap time: Dolphin chat at 10:00AM, Penguin Chat at 10:30AM, Sea Lion Chat at 11:00AM and Crocodilian Feeding at 11:30AM.
Encounters
At the Gulfarium, you can actually interact one-on-one with the animals!
Children ages 3 and up will be able to participate in the Kid’s Reptile Safari where’s they’ll get up-close and personal with turtles, lizards, snakes, and alligators. The encounter lasts 25 minutes and is $29
Children ages 4 and up can take part in the “Discover Stinkrays” encounter, where they’ll get to feel the stingrays’ back and learn all about these fish. This encounter lasts 15 minutes and is $15
Encounters by Age
Children ages 5 and up have a much larger variety of encounters to choose from, including:
“Breakfast with the Dolphins” (available specific days in June and July),
“Discover Dolphins” (5 minutes, $35),
“Dolphin Star” (3 minutes, $30),
“Discover Gators” (15 minutes, $25)
“Discover Turtles (30 minutes, $39), and
“Stingray Bay Snorkel” (20-25 minutes in the water, $49)
